Cat Goes Crazy, Causing Crash
A reminder that cats have nine lives but humans only have one

Mid-Town --- June 15, 2001 – A feline apparently took exception to going for a visit to the vet and jumped on her owner as she was driving eastbound down Route 20 around 9:15am today. The interference caused the driver to lose control of her vehicle and go into the ditch before hitting a driveway culvert and becoming airborne. The car came to rest in the ditch about 30 ft. down the road.

Evans Center Engine 1 responded along with Rural/Metro Paramedic Unit 518. Firefighters Bruce Green Sr., Andy Poulson, Angelo Rizzuto and Clint Soemann assisted Rural/Metro and managed traffic flow past the accident.

According to Paramedic Lynne Potoczak, the young woman driver was transported to the Erie County Medical Center where she was treated for injuries sustained from her seat belt restraint and the air bag discharge resulting from the crash.
