Van
Veers, Rolls Over on Thruway Thanks to a cage style separator in his van, a driver was spared serious injury when his van veered off the Thruway and rolled over in the ditch. The accident occurred around 8:30am this morning near milepost marker 447.6 Eastbound on the New York State Thruway between the Eden-Angola and Silver Creek exits. Evans Center Engine 1 and Rescue 4 responded with Asst. Chief John Latimore and Firefighters Jay Hontz, Charlie Klepfer III, Andy Poulson, Geordie Sinclair, and Clint Soemann. No extrication was necessary and the patient was transported to Lake Shore Health Care Facility by Rural/Metro Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Evans Center was assisted at the scene by members of the Fredonia Fire Department, New York State Police and Angola Fire Control Dispatch Center.
