Head-on
Sends Three
Critical to Trauma Center
Mid-Town – August 10, 2001
A collision between two cars at the intersection
of Rte. 20 and Versailles Plank Road sent three people to the Erie
County Medical Center around 4am this morning. The head-on crash
crushed both cars, with two of the patients requiring extrication.
Evans Center Chiefs Dennis Allen and Bruce Green
Jr. arrived first and called for additional Rural/Metro Paramedic
units as well as Mercy Flight Medical Helicopter. All three patients
appeared to have suffered serious injuries.
Eventually, crews from Eden Emergency Squad, Eden
Fire Department and the North Evans Fire Company were dispatched to
the scene. The teams worked together to pry the doors and cut off the
roof to extricate two patients from the four-door sedan. Evans Center
was also assisted by Angola Fire Control Dispatch and the Town of
Evans Police Department.
