Mid-Town – November 27, 2001

After using a mobile home trailer for months in their HOT Zone Training Facility, Evans Center firefighters lit the trailer on fire for one final exercise. Joined by North Evans Firefighters, the teams trained in exterior attack and hose stream operations. The trailer was torn apart in rescue tool trainings prior to being torched.

The burning of the old trailer will make room for additional trailers expected to be delivered to Evans Center's 4,000 sq.ft. training facility behind their Erie Road Station.

Firefighting is not for everyone – but volunteering can be. Evans Center offers limited duty memberships in the areas of Fire/Rescue only, Fire Police only, Emergency Medical Services Only, Water Rescue only, or Associate only.  Associate members support the fire department through administrative, technology, fund-raising, clerical and other non-emergency business functions.
