Jeep Rolls OverMidTown - January 16, 2003 --- A Jeep Cherokee carrying two people flipped over on Eden-Evans Center Road just east of Rte. 20 around 8:30am this morning. While the driver was able to self-extricate himself, his female passenger was more critically injured and trapped in the vehicle. Evans Center Rescue crews stabilized the vehicle using cribbing and a tow truck provided by Ferber Automotive. They then removed all the glass from the vehicle and used their Hurst hydraulic cutters and Sawzalls to cut the roof off the vehicle, peeling it down to gain access to the patient. Evans Center EMS personnel assisted Rural/Metro Paramedics in immobilizing and extricating the patient. Evans Center was assisted at the scene by Rural/Metro Shift Supervisor Eric Conley, Town of Evans Police and the Angola Fire Control Dispatch Center. |
